L. A. Staufe - Simiginowicz and His Romanian Fairy Tales from Bucovina (1852) An 1852 manuscript in the Archive of Wien Imperial Library contains 48 transcriptions of oral prose collected by L. A. Staufe Simiginowicz from Cernăutzi. The author of the study investigates the reasons that prompted Staufe into collecting folklore and she collaborates with Sigrid Schmidt in order to have the 48 fairy tales and folk comic stories in Staufe’s manuscript typologized according to the ATU index. Moreover, she is interested in the theoretical approach of folklore by Staufe and in the ethnic and transnational elements he mentions throughout his collection. L. A. Staufe Simiginowicz is an important researcher of Bucovina folk culture in the second half of the 19th century and he should be taken into consideration by Romanian scholars in the field of folklore studies. Un manuscris din 1852 în limba germană păstrat în Arhiva Bibliotecii imperiale din Viena conţine 48 de transcrieri de proză orală culese de L. A. Staufe Simiginowicz din Cernăuţi. Încercând să afle mai multe despre culegător, autoarea investighează motivaţiile care au stat la baza activităţii folcloristice a lui L. A. Staufe şi colaborează cu Sigrid Schmidt pentru a încadra în tipologia ATU cele 48 de basme şi snoave din manuscrisul lui Staufe. De asemenea, este interesată de concepţia culegătorului bucovinean asupra folclorului şi de elementele etnice şi transnaţionale din textele notate de el. L. A. Staufe Simiginowicz este un important cercetător al culturii bucovinene din a doua jumătate a secolului al XIX-lea şi este regretabil că este atât de puţin cunoscut în comunitatea academică din România. |
