Este necesarã o „reformã“ a etnologiei?
Autorul încearcã trasarea principalelor jaloane ale etnologiei românesti în perioada comunistã, un fel de "etnologie în oglindã" în contextul social-politic respectiv. În acelasi timp, studiul tine cont de traditiile anterioare ale disciplinei, încercând sã rãspundã întrebãrii: "Este necesarã o reformã în etnologie?". Între rãspunsurile posibile este acela cã reforma face parte din evolutia oricãrei discipline, fãrã a fi provocatã neapãrat de o crizã acutã. Mihai Pop atrãgea atentia contemporanilor lui cã ne va lipsi cândva ceea ce nu se face azi în etnologia româneascã. The author traces some hallmarks of Romanian ethnology during the communist regime, attempting at writing a kind of “ethnology in the mirror” as he was an insider of that social and political context. At the same time, he takes into account previous tradition of the discipline, trying to answer to the question: “Is there need for an ethnological reform?” One possible answer is that reform is part of the evolution of any science even if no acute crisis occurs in that science. Mihai Pop warned his fellow ethnologists that they were going to miss in the future what they weren’t studying at present. |
