Studiul propune un cadru comparativ de analizã a reprezentãrilor populare ale divinitãtilor ce patroneazã Crãciunul, pornind de la functiile îndeplinite de Sf. Nicolae, Mos Ajun si Mos Crãciun în cultura popularã româneascã. Autoarea detaliazã aspectele sincretice ale imaginii Sf. Nicolae în culturile romanice, germanice si slave, oferind o explicatie pentru locul de prim rang ocupat de acest sfânt în mentalitatea traditionalã. The study outlines a comparative analytical framework for the popular representations of the patron divinities of Christmas, starting from the traditional Romanian sacred characters of the Christmas celebration: St. Nicholas (Sf. Nicolae), Old Christmas Eve (Mos Ajun), Old Christmas (Mos Crãciun). The author details the syncretic aspects of different images of St. Nicholas in the Romanic, Germanic and Slav cultures, providing an explanation for the first rank place that this saint occupies in the traditional mentality. |
