Profesorul Mihai Pop si cercetarea etnologicã sibianã
În mod surprinzãtor, numele profesorul este strâns legat de începuturile studentiei clujene, unde prin intermediul lui Dumitru Pop, glasul universitarului bucurestean se fãcea auzit, iar vocea seminarelor conduse de I. Seulean afirma cu tãrie cã profesorul este întemeietorul scolii etnologice românesti. Însã asa cum centrul clujean racorda studentii cu mediul gândirii lui Pop, acesta din urmã prin articolele sale crea o punte de legãturã cu scoala de lingvisticã structuralistã francezã. Contactul cu Mihai Pop însã se prelungeste si dupã anii studentiei prin participarea acestuia constantã la manifestãrile etnologice din cadrul festivalului sibian Cibinun sau la întâlnire Asociatiei folcloristilor si etnografilor din judetul Sibiu. Tripla ipostazã a lui Mihai Pop – profesor universitar, director al Institutului de etnografie si Folclor si redactor responsabil al Revistei de Etnografie si Folclor – i-a permis profesorului nu numai prezenta pe orizontalã, el reprezentând si un factor coagulant pe verticala generatiilor. Surprisingly, the professor’s name is closely related to my early university years in Cluj where through Dumitru Pop the voice of the Bucharest professor was heard. At the same time, within his seminars, Seulean strongly stated that the professor is the founder of the Romanian ethnology school. Yet, the same way as Cluj put its students through Pop’s way of thinking, Pop himself enabled by his studies to contact with the French structural linguistics school. Furthermore the contact with Pop is prolonged after the university years by his constant participation at the ethnological meetings at the Cibinum – the Sibiu festival – and at the Association of Ethnologists and Folklorists from Sibiu County. Pop’s triple position – as a university professor, as director at The Institute of Ethnography and Folklore, and as chief-editor of Revista de etnografie si folclor - enable the professor’s presence not only in different places but also vertically since he represented the generation connector. |
