Sun and Moon in the Romanian and Japanese Folk Traditions

The analysis of the legends referring to the sun and the moon in the Romanian and Japanese traditions opens a comparative perspective on the comparation of the cosmogonic myths in the two folk cultures. The incestuous relation and the role of the primordial couple in the apparition of the sun and the moon are commented upon and the resemblances adn the differences between the two mythical systems are underlined.



Analiza legendelor referitoare la soare si lunã în tradiþiile româneascã si japonezã deschide o perspectivã asupra comparãrii miturilor cosmogonice din cele douã culturi traditionale. Sunt comentate aparitia incestului si relatia dintre cuplul primordial si cele douã corpuri ceresti majore, evidentiindu-se similitudinile si distinctiile dintre cele douã sisteme mitice.
